5 Minute read

The Philippines is an extremely exciting country. Not only is it one of the fastest growing economies in the world, with a world-leading BPO industry, it is filled with natural wonders and hidden gems.

With direct flights between New Zealand and the Philippines now operating, visiting your team has never been easier. While you are over, why not take the time to explore one of the 7,000 islands the Philippines has to offer.

  1. Visit the mega malls

Forget your local Westfield; wait until you see Manila’s shopping malls. Boasting two of the biggest malls in the world, the city is heaven for shopaholics. With more than 50 huge malls located in the central business districts of Manila, you will be able to find everything your heart (and wallet) desires.

Be sure to pack lightly, you’ll need the extra space.

  1. Hundred Island National Park

With over 100 untouched islands, Hundred Island National Park is a must do! Located roughly five-hours from Manila, the National Park is a perfect example of an untouched paradise.

With a number of ways to explore the islands, ranging from snorkelling to ziplining, discovering the abundance of unique plant and animal life is easy and exciting.

  1. Hinagdanan Cave

The Hinagdanan Cave is a truly mind-blowing experience. The diverse network of underground caves, located on Panglao Island, are naturally lit chambers that are an adventurer’s dream.

With lagoons that weave their way through stalagmite and stalactite littered chambers, it’s safe to say there is nothing close to this back home. Be sure to soak up the beauty of the cave and its features.

  1. Visit Chocolate Hills

Sorry to disappoint but the hills aren’t actually made of chocolate. Located in Bohol, the Chocolate Hills are a series of rolling hills that fill the landscape for as far as the eye can see.

The hills are steeped in local myth and legend about their formation. With stories ranging from a massive sand fight between two giants to a doomed love story. They are truly a unique site to see.

  1. Palawan Island

Voted the best Island in the world three years running, where towering cliffs and thick jungle dive into the crystal clear blue water. Palawan Island is one of the most popular holiday destinations in the Philippines and we can see why!

While staying in this paradise, make sure you visit the Tubbataha Reef National Marine Park and Puerto Princesa Subterranean River, both are important ecological sites full of unique secrets.

  1. Panglao Island

Located in the Visayas Island Group, roughly an hour flight from Manila, Panglao Island has quickly become a hotspot for tourists the world over.

Celebrated for its amazing coastline, surrounded by coral reefs, diving spots and inlets waiting for you to discover. With resorts dotted around the coastline, you’ll be able to find a place to suit your needs and budget.

In close proximity to several well-known tourist sites, such as the Chocolate Hills and Hinagdanan Cave, Panglao Island is the perfect base to explore the wonders of central Philippines.

  1. Climb Mount Pinatubo

One of the many volcanoes that run the length of the country, Mount Pinatubo has a secret at the top. What you will find will leave you gobsmacked.

With access to 360-degree views, everywhere you turn will leave you in ore. On one side you look down on the spectacular Lake Pinatubo, which you can either explore from the water or hiking. On the other side, you have staggering views of the vast surrounding landscape.

  1. Lagoons of El Nido

The lagoons are the stuff postcards are made of. Boasting the reputation as the best beach and island destination in the Philippines, the lagoons around El Nido are a must visit.

It’s clear to see why El Nido is so renowned. This is definitely not a holiday location where you stay by the pool. While you’re here, hire a kayak or lace up your hiking boots and go for an explore. There is nothing we can say that will do El Nido justice, just get here!

  1. Mayon Volcano

If danger is your middle name, then Mayon Volcano is an absolute must. There is something beautiful about being able to venture into an active volcano.

The surrounding area is just as beautiful. The volcano is located in the Mayon Volcano National Park, located on the largest island in the country, Luzon Island. The volcano is widely admired for its almost perfect shape.

If you are the thrillseeker type, then do not miss the chance to get up close and personal with this active volcano. However, if you are looking for something slightly less adventurous, exploring the national park and admiring the volcano from afar is just as good.

  1. Explore Manila with your team

Above all else, spend time getting to know your team. Get out and explore the amazing city that is Manila! With the perfect mix of western comforts and far-east surprises, fantastic bars and nightlife, Manila is an exciting vibrant city.

Between the mega malls, cathedrals, museums and food markets, let your team take you out and show you their way of life. You never know, you might end up at one of the many Videoke bars – singing your lungs out.

Coming over to visit your team in Manila, does not have to be all about business. There are countless exciting adventures and places to explore throughout the country.

If you would like any tips or help planning your visit, your account manager will be more than happy to help! As we say in Tagalog, Umaasa ako na makita ka sa lalong madaling panahon!!! I hope we see you soon!
